Bugs and Improvements

Ships can’t be repaired off of CX warehouses… kind of annoying

Do repairs not have to be conducted at a Shipyard?

hum I recall you could do it anywhere from a base last uni but maybe it was only on SHY, gonna give it a test soonish

That is correct. Repairs happen On Base.
The CX is not your base.

Not a bug exactly, but education infrastructure like PBH, LIB, and UNI provide their buffs to education growth regardless of input. Meaning placing down 1 UNI and not feeding it still means populations are educated faster.

Latest POPR has no open jobs, and @ComiTurtle’s base is still there, so it doesn’t appear to me that this will be fixed through the migration mechanic, some intervention will be required

Don’t know where to post suggestions/requests, but I think letting people with warehouses on a planet post LM ads would be a good addition. I don’t know if it’s been brought up before or how easy the implementation would be.

It would give the government a good way to target tax at off-worlders and would help facilitate trade. Instead of requiring two people to be online at once in order to sell at a pre-negotiated price, the off-world buyer could just post the buy.

The only downside I see it the easy potential of trolling, buying a warehouse on a planet and flooding the LM, but I don’t think that is likely with this community.

QOL: in the suggestion list for the buffer command, show if a parameter is optional or not.
Reason: I did not know that e.g. PLI could be used without a command, and I think most new players won’t read through the whole command list to remember which parameters are optional and which are not.

I support LM-ads for warehouse-customers. As for “flooding”, a setting of “max. active LM ads” per player could be implemented, best if configurable by Govenour (distinct between “local residents” or “WAR-customer”).

Another QOL thing: when destroying a building, show the name of the building that is being destroyed. At least with repairing I did already misclick the building, but destroying the wrong one is really not great.

This message is not very helpful. It also increases coliq abuse potential. New players can order construction materials in our corp, give them to another corp and then coliq. We wouldn’t know if there is an abuser or a legitimate player who quit unless we keep track of the member list outside the game and then check who is missing from the member list. If we do everything outside the game we can get rid of ingame corps entirely.

Another tiny QoL thing: when clicking my own LM ad, it would be neat if it could show a red “DELETE” or “CANCEL” Button instead of the default “ACCEPT” one in the LMA buffer.

i does make a lot of sence to me to have that ability once one has the wh on planet

On automation:

I understand the desire to avoid automation; bots and poorly coded implementations cause havoc on servers and ruin game balance for human players.

However, there are a couple of use cases where automation (of sorts) could be implemented in-game, with a ‘command terminal’ for example, that could massively improve QOL.

Use case the first:
Restocking of consumables from the Local Market; SNF runs a centralised buffer on our big planets to manage imports of bulk consumables, and so once a week or so each of us place LM ads for ~5 different consumables at pre-agreed prices. Creating each of these ads takes at least 5 mouse clicks (as there’s no tab-completion for materials), and that’s if you’re running multiple monitors to lookup the pre-agreed prices.

Use case the second:
Scheduled flights; I know exactly how much fuel I want to use, what cargo i want to take and when to depart. However, I also know that perhaps sleep and work could be more important than Capitalism Simulator: Spreadsheet Edition. Playing about with sliders and the amount of fuel in my tanks to get these desired numbers is uh, the worst.

There are some other fringe use cases I can feel but not describe, mostly around production queues for many-recipe buildings. Also, completing contracts that are a million pages down my CONT book

Proposed Solution:
PRO feature with a buffer that allows POSTing payloads from a strict list and with input cleansing, similar to a terminal; ideally with flags to delay execution. In the use cases above, I could generate the payload programmatically from my spreadsheets, and just copypasta it in. This could also be rate-limited or FIFO-stacked to reduce server demand and prevent excessive advantage. This solution preserves the intent of the rule while providing an easier method of programmatic input short of automation that would alleviate many of the use cases for it. (High-Volume Traders and .01’ers will always be suspect :eyes: )

One counterpoint to this is that the clicks are essentially the ‘paperwork’ of PrUn, and that if i want to do less paperwork i should be ordering in bulk and doing trades less often.

PS. Did i mention the lack of Tab Completion For Materials?

Hello

I just encountered a cargo teleportation bug. I sent one of my ships to Moria station from Promitor (AVI-008BB), filled with H2O, RAT and DW. I also had an empty ship station at Hortus (AVI-008BC). When the first ship arrived at Moria its entire cargo teleported to the empty ship on Hortus.

I really hope that a hand of god will somehow move the cargo back where it is supposed to be before trying to fix said teleportation bug.

You sure you just didnt load it into the wrong ship?
Happend to me before.

No, I am certain because the Hortus ship was initially full of Oxygen that it delivered to Hortus and stayed there empty in order to pick up consumables whenever the Oxygen would sell. It’s impossible that there is some form of mistake from my part.

I have found what looks to be the cause of the duplicate Constellation / Sector labels (i.e. there are 2 OTs).

TO-392 is located within the same OT constellation as Moria, and I would suggest that Moria was supposed to be labelled TO-580. Similarly, VV-780 is located within IV, RG-716 is located within IZ, UY-408 is located within OY, etc.
Significantly, there is only 1 such misnamed system in each pair of duplicate constellations.

This would imply that the generator failed to register the changed constellation code (perhaps modified only in a local scope), or that post-processing to detect duplicates incorrectly renames only a single system.

Some improvement ideas for LM ads:

A way to see if auto-provision is enabled for a shipping ad on your own ads - I did not see a way to look that up if you forget for which ads you enabled or didn’t.

Be able to edit the auto-provision later (if the ad is not yet taken) without having to delete the current one and post a new one.

Being able to adjust other ad parameters would be nice, but that would probably only work for the ones that don’t affect other peoples decision if they should accept or not, i.e. extending ad visibility or delivery time would be ok, shortening time or changing amounts/price not. Changing rating is probably also ok.
