If you open a CPXC in a new buffer and then change the duration of the chart, the candlesticks will automatically scale themselves to have a correspondingly nice width. However, this behaviour is only present in a virgin chart; once you manually change the candlestick widths, the autoscaling stops and the only way to fix it is to load the chart in a new buffer. I think there should be a little toggle in the corner of the chart that you can click on and off, maybe represented by a capital A in a square, so you can get autoscaling back.
