Now that players are starting to get their second-base two ships each isn’t going to be enough. I know there is a more complicated shipbuilding system being developed, but can there be a intermittent system where we can build the basic ships, or maybe a light(the current one), medium and heavy ship in the meantime.

Something along those lines is on the immediate roadmap for one of the releases after the next one. No promises, though.
