@molp seems this post has run its course and I imagine its just going to descend into needless banter. The idea stands and has some good alternatives outlined in the comments.

Why run to close posts when I share my opinion? ??
And my opinion is you are being a bad actor (aka a TROLL) by NOT asking the people on the planet - in this case me - before you try to stick yourself into their government. Before I even settle on a planet I let the people know I am coming - and others extend the same curtesy to me as well. But clearly you have no concept of curtesy.
The question was simple: What is the reason you are running that you are running on planets that only have one base and without the intent of actually doing gov work?
And instead of simply answering the question you are starting a rant with topics that were already talked about (like people that build up and manage a planet say it is âtheirâ planet but you can still go there and make a base)
(And it is considered rude to just run on planets where you donât have a base without saying what your agenda is as this can be a hostile takeover, especially with the context of the last months)
Calling someone a TROLL is an offense that should be banned according to rules. If anything, blame the game, not the player. You donât know me and you only say stupid things regarding topics that you donât know well, or try the others to play the way you want, instead of facing the reality of things (aka CRYING)
Ok actual solution. Maybe players should be rate limited in terms of how many extra planets they can run for.
So if you have GOV positions for 10 planets, you can run for 12 planets or something like that.
Definition of trolling: "Trolling is when a person posts deliberately offensive or provocative messages online[1] (such as in social media, a forum, a chat room, an online video game) or performs similar behaviors offline. The methods and motivations of trolls can range from benign to sadistic. These messages can be inflammatory, insincere, digressive,[2] extraneous, or off-topic, and may have the intent of provoking others into displaying emotional responses,[3] or manipulating othersâ perceptions, thus acting as a bully or a provocateur." (Trolling - Wikipedia)
Is it really a offense if you check basically all boxes for that? Imo it would be a fact and not a offense then.
You are the only player that is behaving that way.
He is one of the oldest and most experienced players in the game and is governing over a dozent planets, including high tier ones, and is one of the players with the most government terms served. So I would argue that he know some things about government.
Not sure how good that is as it is a dynamic system so if somebody has seats on X planet and runs on Y more but then doesnât have the seats on Xs while on Ys the elections are still ongoing he could potentially slip into negative allowed planets to run.
(Tbf it was my idea at first too, but as âyou can run on the planets you have bases on and for every seat you have on one moreâ which would go around that somewhat. But right now I think a simple âmax planets to run on depending on HQâ is better in addition to factions being able to blacklist certain people in their territory for a certain period of time and with a high voting result needed)
This is a downright funny post. It could either be the highest height of sarcasm or the lowest level of troll. But I stand on my record of planetary governance (and I run the planets where I am on the government, POPI filling, maintaining COGC and keeping population filled) and ship building (312+ to date) and the players I have helped.
Is the forum not considered a global channel for the game? Does the mute not extend here? I understand it not extending to Discord channels, but heâs still continuing the same behavior, that got him muted in the first place, within an official game forumâŚ
I honestly think the solution is already in place - if someone gets 0 votes, they donât get the seat. Itâs just up to the existing PMs to connect with the folks on their planet to not vote someone in
The problem is that if the player runs on every planet in the universe the chances of somebody voting them in isnât that bad, and the problem is that not the people that voted for them have to deal with that player but the gov. And we are already short on govs.
Example:
This is the only interesting thing youâve said here in a while. After all your insults, which seriously they need to be reviewed by chat mods asap, you actually said something constructive. Planets have aligned somehow.
PD: For the record, I donât even invest in voting for myself. Iâve been 20/20 in permits for long times. So that, someone else thinks I am a good governor for the places. âRender unto Caesar what is Caesarâs.â
did I say it? Ur blatantly false on it. Donât put words on my mouth. I have all the intention of governing.
Again false accusations from corrupted players that led us to all the problems in the Universe. What else could I say here ? I only ask for justice and always received less than that. I never cried for not getting the results I want due to other players.
I urgently call for moderation efforts to reinforce the good norms on which this community rely
I believe this has been addressed: Issues regarding player AncientGreekRenowned - #37 by molp
disgusting post by Shrewdsun that relies itself on a TOS violation.
This is a fair concern, itâs a pain when someone is clearly acting in bad faith. I just hate how reactionary it seems.
I wonder if a recall function would better serve us.
Something like a fellow PM would have to initiate a recall, this pauses any bad motions that may have been put forward. The vote is then planetary (like normal elections). We still apply the same voting logic (i.e. if the bad actor doesnât get any votes then they lose their seat).
If they lose, then any paused motions put forth by that PM is void and they lose their seat.
This way we donât exclude good actors from governing other planets and we get a mechanism to stop bad actors.
@skiedude if you want to make the numbers of planets dependant of your HQ and not count the ones where you have bases then something like HQ^1,1-HQ:
HQ5: 1 extra
HQ10: 3 extra
HQ15: 5 extra
HQ20: 7 extra
HQ25: 9 extra
HQ30: 12 extra
Or simpler: 1 + 2 for every 5 HQ levels
So what is your agenda for remote planets like the ones in Hubur and AW-006a?
And how do you plan to feed CoGC and POPI on these far away worlds?
