I made a mistake

Hi, there. Newbie. So… I popped in for a hot second during First Access and I chose my account name back then without much thought. I then forgot about PrUn for a while and I’ve only recently felt an interest in trying it again. I am enjoying figuring things out.

Only, I really don’t want to keep this username. I am having serious username regret. I’d like to go by my preferred alias in-game. I’ve read the FAQ. I know it says “unfortunately not.” I have to ask anyway. I happen to know the username I want is available (but for obvious reasons I will not write it here). Is liquidating my company and having my account deleted so I can make a new one really the only recourse I have?

In my enthusiasm I had already picked up a month of Pro mostly to be supportive but also I wanted to play around a bit with shipping contracts… before I realized my mistake. It would be a bummer if I had to lose the rest of the month so I don’t have to start over from too far down the rabbit hole, but honestly, it’s the tedium of setting things up again and the risk of someone else grabbing my company name I don’t want to deal with. If someone could please help me avoid that whole musical chairs game, I’ll join a support tier or something.

Or, you know, do feel free to let me know I’m being entirely too stuck on this username thing, which is probably also true.

Unfortunately there is no way for us to move a company from one account to another.

That is something we can fix.
