Similar to warehouse infrastructure, but it’s owned and operated by a player’s company instead.
It’s already possible to provide such service in game: with a pair of sell and buy contract, or with a shipping contract with identical origin and destination.
Here’s a demonstration of such contract:
| Index | Condition | Deadline | Party | Depends On |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| #1 | Payment of 56,700 ICA | 3 days | Tenant | – |
| #2 | Provisioning of 12,340.00t / 56,000.00m³ of warehouse capacity @ Hortus - Promitor | 3 days | Warehouse Owner | – |
| #3 | Pay periodical rent: 1,234 ICA | 7 days | Tenant | #2 |
| #4 | Pay periodical rent: 1,234 ICA | 7 days | Tenant | #3 |
| … | … | … | … | … |
| #7 | Pay periodical rent: 1,234 ICA | 7 days | Tenant | #6 |
| #8 | Return warehouse capacity @ Hortus - Promitor | 35 days | Tenant | #2 |
Notes:
- Warehouse owner must have a base at specified location, base inventory capacity must be larger than or equal to the capacity specified in contract.
- “Provisioning of warehouse capacity” would create a BLCK item in warehouse owner’s base inventory, its size is equivalent to that specified in contract. Could only be fulfilled when base inventory’s remaining capacity is not less than that specified in contract.
- “Periodical rent” conditions are automatically completed upon due (similar to loan repayments). Could be fulfilled at any time, but would not reduce rental length. Failing those conditions would lock corresponding warehouse inventory until the breached condition is completed.
- “Return warehouse capacity” could be fulfilled at any time as long as the warehouse is empty, or automatically completed upon due. Failing this condition would lock corresponding warehouse inventory until the contract is extended. If fulfilled manually, all pending “periodical rent” conditions would be marked as “cancelled” with no payment required.
Rented privately-owned warehouse would also up as an inventory in other commands, such as INV or MTRA. For quicker access and easier management, a new command could be introduced to list out all renting & rented privately-owned warehouse capacities with link to corresponding contracts.
Pros:
- Privately-owned warehouse is a cheaper alternative to warehouse infrastructure, especially when only a limited number of players need to rent warehouse.
MATs required to build a lv3 warehouse (lv0 → lv3) is enough to build approximately 14 STO (on 3g planets).
Warehouse at lv3 have 300 units, but only allows 2 units per player (1000 t/m³). This means no matter how many players are actually using the warehouse, it could at most provide 1000 t/m³ capacity per player. If only 2 players was building and are using the warehouse, each of them essentially spent the cost of 7 STO for 1/5 the capacity of a STO.
14 STO could provide 70,000 t/m³, if there’re still 2 players intend to use warehouse, each of them could have 35,000 t/m³ yet at a similar cost, even if we include the cost to build another base dedicated to STO. - Privately-owned warehouse is a more flexible and customizable alternative to warehouse infrastructure.
A maxed warehouse infrastructure only allows 10 units per player (5000 t/m³), but Privately-owned warehouse could easily reach 50,000 t/m³ per player. Or customise required capacity such as 24,500t / 7,500m³.
Cons:
- Contract based, restricted to Basic and Pro players.
