It would be incredible if the notifications that “Consumables are running low on XYZ Planet” would differentiate between basic and luxury consumables.
The literal drinking water running out? Top-tier crisis, in need of immediate attention. The kombucha running out? It’s just not the same level of importance, yet it fires the same notification.

i think this is especially true for newer players who buy lux consumbales in smaller amounts. I remember brining a few PWO back to my base and getting the notificiation. I was really panicked until i remembered I had only brought 7 PWO to base.
What would it say if luxury consumables and basic consumables both ran out at the same time?
Basic consumables: “Basic consumables are running low on XYZ-Planet.”
Luxury consumables: “Luxury consumables are running low on XYZ-Planet.”
Both Basic and Luxury consumables: “Basic and luxury consumables are running low on XYZ-Planet.”
I imagine that either could send as a notification independently, and then if the 2nd classification of consumable also becomes low, the joint notification would send instead of it’s own individual one-liner.
Or how about:
“Consumable (Coffee) is running low on XYZ-Planet”
“Consumable (Drinking Water) is running low on XYZ-Planet”
“Consumable (Drinking Water, Rations) is running low on XYZ-Planet”
…
Yes differentiating between basic or luxury is helpful, but you still would need to look through your consumables list to see which one needs to be sent. If the game knows enough to send you a notification when something is running low then it certainly knows which something it is and could put that in the notification.

What about this:
“Consumables are running out on YI-683c - Arcadia: COF, DW, OVE, PWO, RAT.”
for all of the pioneer consumables running out. “YI-683c” would be replaced with the planet id, “Arcadia” would be replaced with the name of the planet. (if there is no name, the “- Arcadia” part is fully omitted) “COF, DW, OVE, PWO, RAT.” Would be replaced with the consumables running out, separated by a comma then a space and ending with a period.
More Examples:
“Consumables are running out on RC-040b - Malahat: DW, LC, MEA, NST, WIN, WS.”
“Consumables are running out on YI-683c - Arcadia: COF, PWO.”
“Consumables are running out on OT-580b - Montem: RAT.”

@BraveCaperCat & @Ogrebeef-Backkicker – both suggestions sound much more useful than present-day. I’d be happy for either tbh. Both approached seem like major improvements in lowering the cognitive load of scaling up planets.
