When buying on Station, I have Warehouse rented and a ship there. Since I have a ship there, I want to buy and transfer to ship directly, so I set “Storage Location” to ship. Yet, when I buy it’s added to warehouse.
I’ve had this problem for a while too!
It will always prioritize warehouse over ship even if selected. Just a quirk you learn to work around
That’s why this post is here. Because you are supposed to be able to select the destination.
And what do you do when you set the buy order and move the ship?
Whats correct is that the dropdown needs to be removed, as its not useful for the buy window

If we can be a bit fancy, then as long as the destination is there while order is being fulfilled, then load it. Otherwise fallback to warehouse. But yeah removing that would make the most sense I guess.
Well, the order does work right when you SELL - so removing the dropdown would actually be bad - maybe add a line and have “sell from” with dropdown and “buy to” hardcoded to warehouse?

We are talking about buy… not sell.
True, but the Place Order window is the same for buy AND sell.
So if you remove the dropdown for the window - you would be removing it from both. (or you would have to introduce a new window for buy only - but that would be a much bigger mess)
What I think you can do is for the buy orders fix it so it defaults to the selected (ie ship) - but if the ship isn’t present it would then put it in the warehouse.
