Could renting a warehouse on a planet just increase the storage space of the base’s inventory instead of making a second inventory? It is annoying to have to shuffle goods between the two. The Burn rate calculator also ignores stuff in the warehouse.
Yeah, unless they intend to add better storage variants to the base- I don’t see much reason why they WOULDN’T do this. Because you don’t have to worry about base space with warehouses, it gets to the point you almost just store anything not immediately needed on a CX or planetary warehouse. There are very few production lines that are fast enough to justify constant input of materials, everything “in bulk” goes for at least a few days. Overall- it doesn’t really “add” anything to the game. Granted- if they used the warehouses and base storage being separate to build off that and do something different with base storage… I would be alright with that. Maybe bases could be for “heavier” objects and warehouses make better use of their size/volume.
This needs to be selectable for each person then
I use the WAR to store items i DO NOT want counted or used on the main base. i’m sure many others do similar.
Or per-base, for people like me who do both ![]()
it is interesting idea, and I like it…it is really annoying to shuffle stuff around. Option to merge base/warehouse in one would be great.
The new storage options are bloody expensive for their utility.
STO 5k costs around 65k NCC vs STE 10k @ 5.5M NCC. 200% space for +8’500% price. ROIC is crap for 10/1000 extra space for another buildings.
My most productive bases have 20k base storage…It uses 60/1000 places vs 40/1000 @ 11M NCC price tag. I can build extra production building maybe. With ~10k NCC/day profit, it would take 1100 days or ~3 years to repay it…ignoring maintenace of building that costs like 10k every month.
Over 3y period, maintenance is 370k…adding slightly more than month to ROIC. It would be better to invest this money to more ships as mobile warehouse :o)
