Bugs and Improvements

The planet I am based on just instituted taxes on production in a currency type I don’t have. So I can’t make things anymore. I guess I’m done with this game.

That is sad to hear. Your planet is outside of any faction space, so it is kind of expected that things change. Why don’t you sell your goods at another comex to get some cash that necessary for the production fees?

That could certainly happen @FattestBrando What planet are you on?

Began reconstructing my buildings on Prom to refresh the quality and production line condition, my area usage is 492 for my total base design.

However when I demolished my 5 rigs and attempted to rebuild them, I was only able to rebuild 4 and my area usage is somehow 496, even though it should in fact only be using 482.

My lines are at 70% and need to be rebuilt however I’m concerned about demolishing anything now if area is at risk of being magically occupied.

Issues/Suggestions

  1. Suggestion: A Jira/BugZilla issue tracker would be nice, there are so many replies in this thread that it’s hard to check if what I’m reporting has been noted/resolved.

  2. Issue: Got a “hydration error” when trying to load up the “BASE” screen. Hasn’t happened since I reloaded the page.

Issues/Suggestions (continued)

  1. Issue: What does Supply/Demand column in the CX view indicate? Column shows 0/0 for NE.NC1, but CXOB NE.NC1 shows 28 units requested.

Issues/Suggestions (continued)

  1. Suggestion: Having a command for opening the “CX” view with a specific Category preselected, or even a specific material, would be nice.

  2. Suggestion: Having a command to view the “CX” information for a specific material across several specified exchanges would be nice.

  3. Suggestion: Being able to filter column values in the “CXOS” view would be nice. I get that I can delete rows, but my fear is that it would cause permanent loss of information for me.

  4. Issue: At 175% browser magnification (100% text size is very small!) weird things start to happen. “PROD” pane gets unnecessary scroll bars, and “CMDS” in the left sidebar is covered by the “APEX alpha” text/graphic and is not clickable.

  1. Suggestion: Allow users to change the font size. :slight_smile:

  2. Issue: At one point pulling up my “COMMS” screen consisting of APEX Global Chat, Official APEX Help Channel, and Montem Global Site Owners panes took approximately 10 seconds to fully load. Closing the tab and re-opening in a new tab resolved it, but maybe there’s a memory leak issue? Haven’t been able to repro this one yet, but then I haven’t had this new tab open (and unrefreshed) for as long.

  3. Issue: Trying to open a private comm with myself gives an “Error #1013”.

  4. Suggestion: Auto-focus an input field (if applicable) when a buffer is opened. Example: CXPO, or (as from #10) after clicking “NEW PRIVATE” from “COM”.

The area requirements of the rigs have been changed in the meantime. That is probably why you cannot rebuild the 5th one.

Suggestion: Having a command to view the “CX” information for a specific material across several specified exchanges would be nice.

+1

Apologies if this is a duplicate; I searched but didn’t see any mention of this bug.

Clicking and dragging buffers causes the buffer to become stuck. The only recourse is to hit ESC and lose the buffer. This has happened for me in Chrome and Edge while running Win10 and a reload didn’t fix the issue. Other users in COMP HELP have reported this issue as well.

I’ll discuss that with the team!

We have some technical issues over the last days and are currently trying to sort them out. Usually this results in a laggy game or even hydration timeouts.

Supply and demand should have the total amount of units offered/requested. There seems to be a bug. I’ll look into it!

We’ll add that to the list. Note that if you have the CX command in a screen layout (and not in a buffer) the selected category is preserved.

Sorting and filtering is on The List :tm:

We just hired a full-time front end developer, who will take care of such issues

Probably due to the same backend issues as I described above

The COM blinking (when having unread messages) consumes CPU of varying degrees, between 15-20%. I assume you need to force hardware acceleration on the CSS animation, which is done by adding the following:

.hw {
   -webkit-transform: translateZ(0);
   -moz-transform: translateZ(0);
   -ms-transform: translateZ(0);
   -o-transform: translateZ(0);
   transform: translateZ(0);
}

Thanks! Since in that case nothing is moving, I will use the opacity attribute which supports hardware acceleration as well!

I can’t see any markers on the maps (stars, fleets, exchanges, planets, etc) on Windows 10 with Chrome 79.0.3945.88.

The only reason I know they should exist is because I started playing on my Macbook :wink:

I seem to remember that that has been fixed as well by enabling hardware acceleration in your browser. Does that work? :slightly_smiling_face:

Just go to the Settings, it’s at the bottom under “Advanced”. Does that work?

My god it’s full of stars … Thanks!

Slight improvement suggestion.

From the MAT (Commodity) buffer, before the recipes for that material have a small hyperlink to the exchanges, could either be a dedicated window or have the order book be a suggested related tabbed buffer.
