Amazing set of announcements!.

Great news for govs of starter planets

When will the reduced deletion timers will go into effect? Only for future ones or also for already existing ones? (I expect the first)

Yes, great announcements. The new player initial starting point idea is pretty much exactly what I had suggested. Are you considering making a dedicated planet where nobody but new players can create a base with that base only being functional for a short term training period?

It will go into effect for existing ones as well.

This is just a concept right now, but the idea is to let players start on stations, that have been build from the initial generation ships of the factions. That would fit into the lore and prevent having newbies-only planets.

This seems like a really solid idea to me. Having played through the new player stuff on the test server, I can say that the new faction contracts make the early game more interesting, and help prevent becoming overwhelmed with all of the information that’s needed to play the game “properly “. To me, it would make most sense if players started on the generation ships, got all of their materials through faction contracts, and by the end of things had a very small base set up, which they would have to dismantle and ship to their new location to start the game properly. That way, they would start already with experience and understanding with the UI/UX, without being hit by everything all at once as can happen with the current game start.
Part of doing that in my opinion might be introducing concepts one at a time, restricting player access to them until they are introduced. For example, the first step is setting up a base, so the only things available to the player would be the base materials. Subsequently, running the base and populating it, all of which would be provided by faction contracts. Lastly, shipping things, at which point the player would receive their starting ships, and would be instructed to move to their chosen planet.

Love to see these changes and attention paid to the new player experience. Good job everyone.

This is certainly good news — except for me.

Waited 7 days to liquidate due to water prices and relocated from Promitor to Boucher. After all, given the trend, water supply was falling short of demand, and HYF can replace FRM, right?

If CO hadn’t liquidated, when I saw that log, I would have chosen to use a second CMK to bet on Boucher clearing out.
Instead of just watching Boucher fill up bit by bit like now. This really kills the enthusiasm for the game. :frowning:

fyi you you can use COLIQ to liquidate instantly

only to a limited degree, some things in FRMs (GRN or HER for examplee) and the all ORC products can only be produced on fertile ground.
