Bugs and Improvements

I’ve discovered another bug and thought that gathering them in one sub topic might help you guys.
If you want reports in another way (mail, ingame chat, …) feel free to delete this :slight_smile:

  1. Mineral Construction Granulate does not show amount in inventory:

  2. Inventory sorting
    I like the inventory with different icons for different goods.
    But finding out whether I have a specific resource/building/… means I have to look at every single one.
    A categorization similar to the commodity exchange would be helpful

It’s definitely there, only obstructed, since the name is so long. Maybe we have to come up with a shorter name. Suggestions? You can see how much you have if you switch to the list view (first icon in the list above the inventory)

I agree.

The not visible MCG amount annoyed me as well - so I switched to the list mode. Sadly, that’s not a persistent option (maybe change that?). Also, I’d love if the list option would automatically use a second row, instead of creating a very long scroll-able list.

Generally not happy with how our inventory works yet. I think we basically copied it from other games like EVE, without taking our particular requirements into consideration enough. Shortening names won’t do it, imo, since there’s no telling how long names might have to be for certain complex materials in the future. Definitely something that needs a few rounds of polish!

Unlikely, but just to make sure: No storage capacity left, maybe?

Ok, as expected, not the problem :slight_smile:

However, the storage capacity doesn’t always get updated properly, as far as I can tell.
I was thinking about adding more and then decided to simply move some stuff into my fleet. When I did that, it suddenly got updated showing an almost full bar, while it had been showing only around 60% or so before that.

I think I know what the cause of this might be. @molp and I are aware of the issue, but coming up with a nice solution might take a bit.

I noticed the 0 s completion time bug too, but I think it was about the same time that a patch came out, refreshing the page fixed it, and I think the completion time for the next order was correct afterwards.

I notice the 0s bug in three times in my Extractor. Reload reset the last of the three. The first two hold 0s.

The weight calculation for inventory seems really wrong. I had 13,500 t before and added 2 storage modules. Now I suddenly have 20,500 t - it appears the bar never really changed.

Regarding the 0s bug: I had one the whole Saturday in my extractor orders, but today it’s gone.

It‘s seems is a Feature and not a bug. I Have installed a Storage Modul. The Output of the blocked Extractors is very Heavy. After the install of new 5000t Weight it went from 4.900ts to 9.900 ts.

Some suggestions for improvements:

  • dragging a buffer over a part of the screen which already has content should replace the content (i.e. changing the content does not require closing a window/section and creating it again)
  • Make it possible to rename the Home screen
  • Show the needs of all different people (?) in the population buffer even if you don’t have e.g. settlers yet ES-484
  • Have a short info about what the sections are producing or used for in the Section Construction overview (I think this was already mentioned somewhere else) ES-486, ES-487
  • Opening a buffer which already exists should not open a second identical buffer but bring the already existing buffer to the front ES-489

I witnessed the 0s bug now too, but could resolve it by creating more room in the inventory. Will continue to watch though.

Make it possible to rename the Home screen

The home screen can be renamed by clicking on the string “Home”. It’ll turn into a text editor field

We need some kind of wiki or descriptions for each material and building. I would rather put a link to such a description into the section construction tile than adding the text there. But yes, we need something like it.

A couple of issues I have come across with the production order management recently:

  • The ‘Queue Order’ button works like I expect when I have multiple reactors, pressing it multiple times fills up more slots, but when those slots are filled the button becomes unavailable until I individually click on the empty queue slots to queue up more orders.

  • Linked to the first point, there is no scroll bar on this buffer. This means that if I have a lot of reactors I have to expand the buffer to be able to reach the queue slots. If I buy any more farms I won’t be able to use the last queue slot any more as it currently takes up the full screen :stuck_out_tongue:

  • This might be intentional, but if I don’t have the materials for the item that is first in the queue it waits at the front until I do, but everything behind it in the queue will wait too, even if there are available slots and I have the materials for them.

Created a ticket for it.

We have a UI brainstorming concering the general production UI scheduled for later this week and we’ll discuss the long list of slots/reactors as well.

This is, for now, intentional. It might change in the future, but at the moment I want it to keep this deterministic behavior. So when you want that second order to get started, you have to manually cancel the blocked one.

Do the numbers or just the bar don’t make any sense? If it’s just the bar, could you please tell me the kind of browser you use and its version number?

i’m not sure if this is a bug if not please let me know…
i’m cunretly trying zo buy some food from the mraket so i set up a commodity exchange order and because there were some offers listet already i set my limit to the highest offer (10.00ECD) so i can buy the hole market… all the offer below the 10.00ECD point were bought but the hightest and last 10 units are still there why?image

but hey its so fun to play i can’t stop trading and trying things out :smiley:
